India’s need for power cannot be over emphasized. The present per capita power consumption in India is approximately 1,200 kWh, which is well below the world average. The North-East Region faces particular challenges in power availability, accessibility and affordability.
This seminar report examines the current state of power infrastructure in India’s North-East, identifies key barriers to improvement, and proposes policy options for the way forward.
