Internship & Research Programme
CENERS-K offers an Internship and Research Programme for students, young researchers and early-career professionals with an interest in defence studies, geopolitics, international relations and regional security.
Who Can Apply
- Post-graduate and doctoral students in political science, international relations, security studies or related fields
- Graduates with a demonstrable interest in South Asian or Indo-Pacific strategic affairs
- Young professionals from defence, civil services or research backgrounds
- Doctoral candidates working on North-East India, South Asia or Indo-Pacific themes
What You Will Do
- Assist in research for CENERS-K publications and event proceedings
- Contribute to the Calcutta Journal of Global Affairs (CJGA)
- Support organisation of seminars, round tables and public lectures
- Develop your own analytical writing under mentorship from senior fellows
- Attend CENERS-K events and contribute to seminar reports
Duration and Format
Internships typically run for 2–3 months and are available in both in-person (Kolkata) and remote formats. Stipend information is available on application.

Research Programme
In addition to the internship, CENERS-K runs a Research Programme that allows scholars to work on independent research projects under the guidance of senior CENERS-K fellows. Research outputs may be published in the CJGA or as CENERS-K working papers.
