- AGM of CENERS-K was held at 11.30 am on 07Sep 2015 at the Henderson Hall , AOI , Fort William.

- Proceedings:
The chair wished all present and welcomed them to the AGM. He invited AR and KS to join him at the head table.
Agenda Points.
- Passing Of Accounts. The Audited accounts of last Financial year was circulated by mail to all members. The Secretary proposed the passing of accounts of the last financial year. All members unanimously seconded the motion and passed the accounts
.
- Minutes Of Last AGM. The Secretary read out the minutes of last AGM and recapitulated the events organised by CENERS-K in the previous year. She highlighted the seminar organised on Energy Security, Global Warming and its Effect On Economy, Indo China Border Issues- Folk Lore of Arunachal Pradesh and the Round Table Discussion on Cross Border Cooperation to combat Terrorism. She thanked all organisations who helped CENERS-K to successfully organise and conduct the afore said events.
- Upcoming Events: Executed Director announced the under mentioned events in near future to be organised by CENERS-K:-
- Seminar on Disaster Management at Kolkata with CII on 05 Dec 2015.
- Seminar in Feb/Mar 2016 at Mizoram. Likely topic- Look East Policy- How it
affects Mizoram( In respect of Development and Economy).
- Induction Of New Members in The GC.
The Executive Director suggested that the present Governing Council ( GC) be dissolved since it had completed its stated tenure of two years and requested all present to suggest the names for the various appointments for the new GC.
- President: The present incumbent proposed the name of Mr VS Bhandari
Prof J Ray seconded the proposal. VSB was elected unanimously.
- Executive Director: Mr Aniruddha Lahiri proposed that Maj Gen Arun Roye
continue for another terms of two years .Mr RK Dutta seconded the proposal, AR was elected unopposed .
iii. Vice President (VP)(Operations). AR proposed The name of Lt Gen JR Mukherjee and Mr Sitaram Sharma seconded the proposal. JRM was elected unanimously..
- VP (Finance). Maj Gen Arun Roye proposed that Mr RK Dutta continue for another tenure of two years .Aniruddha Lahiri seconded the proposal. RKD was elected unopposed.
- VP (Strategy). AR proposed the name of Mr Sitaram Sharma. Prof J K Ray
seconded the proposal. Mr Sitaram Sharma (SS) was elected unopposed.
- Member GC. Ms Karuna Singh suggested an additional member for the GC
and proposed the name of Mr Aniruddha Lahiri which was agreed by all present. AL was elected as a member of the GC.
- The incumbent, KS proposed the name of Col PK Baidya.
Col Baidya’s name was seconded by Prof J K Ray. PKB was elected unopposed.
- The election of all members proposed and seconded for various appointments of the GC accepted by the General Body.
- Points From Members. No points were received from any member prior to the AGM for discussion however under mentioned points were raised/suggested by those present in the AGM:
- AR said, that whereas there was one person who has been employed an accountant on a part time basis at a salary Rs 5000/- per mensem there was need for a suitable person to be employed, again on a part time basis to handle the office work assist in research, and during event both logistically and academically .
AR brought out that three members , all of Army have been expelled due to non attendance. This has left CENERS-K with many vacancies.
- Dr Harish Mehta suggested that membership to CENERS-K should be extended to the young generation who are involved in intellectual pursuit like pursuing Doctoral or post Doctoral studies. He also suggested that efforts should be made to have gender parity in the members of CENERS-K
- Dr Harish Mehta suggested that efforts should be made to organise round table discussion on various contemporary subjects and issues in Kolkata once a month.
- . Decision Taken On The Points from Members. The aforesaid points raised/suggested by members were discussed and debated by all present and under mentioned decision were arrived at:-
- Office Executive. It was decided to employ one person on part time basis for management of the office and and be an all round assistant. The person is to be paid out of CENERS-K funds. It was also decided that interested students from University doing Masters/Doctoral studies be scouted and involved in academic content of CENERS-K activities as on required /event basis for specific period at the end of their service such students be given certificate of participation from CENERS-K which would be of more value then monetary remunerations. Prof JK Ray and Mr Sitaram Sharma were requested to scout and prepare list of such interested students from various academic institution. KS volunteered to also help.

- Membership To Young Generation Pursuing Master/Doctoral/ Career In It was decided that the Total No of membership would be maintained constant upto 50 as per statute of CENERS-K. However young generations are invited to various seminars conducted by CENERS-K as a practice and will continue to invite students from various academic institutions as hitherto fore.

- Gender Parity In Membership. There has never been any embargo on eligible and interested ladies to join CENERS-K as members within the constraints of maximum membership of 50. The membership as of now is still short by 17. Members are free to recommend women of credibility and eligibility for membership to CENERS-K.

- Periodicity of Round Table Discussion. In accordance to present fund status of CENERS-K it is not feasible to organise one round table discussion per month as a rule, however what is most important is to first identify list of topics within the ambit of charter of CENERS-K which would merit round table discussion. All members to suggests list of such topics.

- Address By Outgoing President. Outgoing President , JRM in his address stated the following points:-
- Efforts must be made to induct retired IPS, retired IFS, Professors and eminent people of society from the NE into CENERS-K.
- As a stated policy, In order to retain freedom of thought and views on various issues, CENERS-K does not accept any funds from Govt. As a result the Corpus held with CENERS-K compels a frugal existence. He implored all out efforts must be made to raise the corpus from the present 50 lacs to I crore in next 2 years through sponsorships and donations which would help CENERS-K to reasonably sustain its activities.
- Address By Out Going Secretary. The outgoing secretary, KS, in her address thanked the Patron, members of outgoing GC and all other members for their guidance, cooperation and support to her in discharging her responsibilities. She said that although she now holds no position in the GC she would make herself available for all duties whenever asked to. All present applauded her offer.
- Address By New President. The new President, VSB, in his address expressed his thanks to everyone for reposing their faith and trust by nominating him as the President . He assured to do everything to raise the bar of CENERS-K and live upto the trust and faith reposed on him by all members.
- Closing Remarks By the Executive Director. The Executive Director in his closing remarks thanked the outgoing GC for tremendous work done during the year. There was however scope of more working hands in the Membership roll. highlighted the important aspects of the yearly audited balance sheet of accounts of CENERS-K.
There being no other points, the AGM was declared closed at 1.00 pm.
