MEETING – RESOLUTIONS AGM 26 Aug 2010

1. A meeting of the Governing Coucil Members was held in the Office of the CEO, at The RCTC at 11:00 A.M.  The following members were present :-

 

1. a) Gen ( R) S Roychowduhry, PVSM, Founder Member

 

1. b) Lt Gen ( R ) J R Mukherjee, PVSM, AVSM, VSM,

Founder Member

 

1. c) Mr G K Bhagat, Founder Member.

 

1. d) Maj Gen ( R ) Arun Roye, AVSM, VSM, Founder Member

 

2. Brig( R ) D K Ghosh, Dy CEO of RCTC and newly inducted member of CENERS-K was in attendance

 

3. The resolutions/ decisions taken are given at subsequent paras.

 

 

                            REVIEW OF EVENTS -2009-10

 

4. It was noted that CENERS-K had an independent event on Security, presided over by Mr Shyamal Datta, former Governor of Nagaland. Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar could not attend due to last moment glitches in his programme The organisation also held two major events in conjunction with the DPG, New Delhi and the RCTC, Calcutta respectively. The first event was addressed by Lt Gen ( R ) V Raghavan, Proffessor Rajesh Rajagopalan, and Mr Suman K Mukherjee. The last event was addressed by H.E. Shri M K Narayanan, The Governor of W.B. and the President of CENERS-K,

Gen Roychowdhury.

 

 

STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS FY  2008-09-DATE

 

5. All Governing Council Members reviewed the accounts and were satisfied with its correctness. They were also shown a brief of Accounts for the FY- 2009-10. This account was yet to be audited.

 

6. It was decided to appoint S L Dugar and Associates as the Auditors for FY 2009-10. Tax exemption was declined by the IT authorities in the first effort. It was decided to re-approach them again. Fund raising could only begin once these exemptions were provided.

 

MEMBERS LIST

 

7. It was decided to remove the names of Mr Rangan Dutta, and Mr BB Dutta, from the list of Members as they had failed to clear their dues. New Members were welcomed into the fold. A list of Members was circulated.

 

8. It was decided to actively follow up on increasing the member base of the organisation. Each member needed to address this issue.

Emphasis was to be put on corporate memberships.

 

EVENT PLANNING- SUGGESTED ATTENDEES-MEDIA

 

9. Three events were to be planned for, from Oct 2010 to July 2011. Tentatively , these were as under:-

 

1. a)  Mr Mohan Guruswamy- ‘Heart of Indian Darkness’. To be

held between Oct and Dec 2010. Gen Roychowdhury agreed to

request him to be the lead speaker. It was decided to

approach MAKIAIS, to be a joint sponsor for the event. Lt Gen J

R Mukherjee was requested to coordinate this

 

1. b) Maoist Threat / any other Security issue. It was decided that

Maj Gen Roye would approach USI/ IDSA, in New Delhi, for a

joint event, between Jan and Mar 2011.

 

1. c) An event on Economics and Development in the East and

North East. This was to be coordinated with the ICC North – East

Summit for the Year 2011 between Apr and July 2011.Mr Gopal

Bhagat offered his assistance in this regard. It was also

proposed to get Mr Mani Shankar Aiyer to be the lead Speaker .

 

10. As hithertofore one of the speakers at each event would be a member of CENERS-K.

 

11. It was decided to prepare a consolidated list of invitees comprising eminent persona and persons across the entire spectrum of professions and academia for future events. All members were requested to forward this list earliest to Maj Gen Roye. The approved list would come into effect from events held after Sep 2010.

 

12. It was decided to invite the media for all interactions in order to propagate the being of CENERS-K. All members were requested to ponder over other means to increase the awareness of the existence of this organisation.

 

NEW GOVERNING COUNCIL

 

13. The election of the Governing Council was debated extensively. It was decided that the basic structure of the present Council was to continue until the organisation matures a little more. It was however decided to induct Mr R K Dutta as the Hony Vice President, Finance, as the membership of Mr Rangan Dutta was terminated. Lt Gen Mukherjee is to retain the appointment of Hony Vice President, Operations. Brig ( R ) D K Ghosh, to become understudy to Maj Gen Roye, with a view to takeover the latter’s duties in due course.
